First Community plans Strawberry Festival

The First Community Congregational Church will host a Strawberry Festival on March 5 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at 200 E. Leeland Heights Blvd.

Dinner is $8 per plate and includes a side dish, strawberry-themed dessert and drink.

Judging for the strawberry dessert contest will start at 5 p.m. First prize wins $50, and second prize takes home $25.

To register for the contest, call the church office by 5 p.m. March 4 at (239) 369-1615.

The church will also host the following events:

– March 12: BBQ fundraiser from 4-7 p.m. with dinners, with sides and a drink, for $ 8-10

– March 22: Fish fry from 4:30-6:30 with dinners, with a side and a drink, for $ 8

Buckingham Presbyterian announces garage sale

Buckingham Presbyterian Church, in partnership with The Verandah Community, will host a garage sale on March 5 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 4241 Buckingham Road, Fort Myers.

The sale will feature clothing, shoes, jewelry and boutique-type items, sports goods, small appliances and electronics, lamps, linens, floral arrangements, Christmas items and furniture.

Breakfast, lunch and baked goods will be for sale.

The proceeds will go to local charities, like the Salvation Army, Mision Peniel, Abuse Counseling and Treatment, and the Guardian ad Litem program.
