Chamber offering trip to Italy
Mike Burgers, the new board chairman of the Greater Lehigh Chamber of Commerce, has an offer that he says is too good to turn down.
While the chamber is not in the travel business, Burgers said the organization is planning a trip to Italy on Oct. 25 and is inviting chamber members, their families, friends and members of the public.
“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” he said. “Save $200 by signing up now.”
It is a nine-day trip in what Burgers says is a journey back to the old country, where you will have the opportunity to explore the Tuscan region and enjoy a Mediterranean experience.
He said visitors can enjoy a wine tasting at fifth generation winery and organic farm.
Burgers said Tuscany is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, with Montecatini as your home base for the tour. It offers what he calls the option of relaxing in one of the beautiful spas, which he said makes this resort town famous.
You can also tour Florence, home to such artists is Leonard da Vinci, Dante and Michelangelo.
Visitors should take some time to explore the Piazza del Duomo before making your way to Pisa, home of the famous Leaning Tower, Burgers said.
On another day, Burgers said you will have the option to enjoy the Cinque Terre, known for its beautiful harbors, colorful houses and cobblestone streets.
“Tuscany has sent out invitations to take the trip to chamber members and others,” he said.
Burgers said the journey is “an amazing opportunity to participate in an international trip to an unforgettable Tuscany, where programs participants can experience the country’s culture, learn about its business climate and make new friends.”
You can get a complete itinerary and more information about the trip by calling the Greater Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce at (239) 3693322 or visiting online at: lehighacreschamber.org.
Burgers said space is limited.
He suggested that people make reservations now.
The cost for the trip is $2,999. If you sign up before the end of April, the price goes down to $2,799.
Meanwhile, the chamber supports high school graduating seniors with its annual GLACC Leadership & Character Awards.
To be eligible, an application needs to be submitted to a selection committee for consideration.
The deadline for submitting applications is April 15.
