Lehigh man’s death being called a homicide; help sought from public

A Lehigh Acres man, identified by the Lee County Sheriff’s as 30-year-old Leisle Izquierdo, is the subject of a death investigation by officials of the Major Crimes Unit.
Investigators said Izquierdo was found dead in a vehicle at around 9:30 p.m. this past Saturday.
Deputies were sent to a possible shooting on Southwest 30th Street, between Haviland Avenue South and Harry Avenue South, at around 9:30 p.m.
Sheriff’s deputies with the Major Crimes Unit are investigating the death which investigators are calling an isolated incident. They said in a news release that there was threat to the community.
There was much activity during the night according to neighbors on Facebook. A AK-9 unit was used along with the Sheriff’s department helicopter flying over the area around 30th St. and Harry Ave., close to SR82 and around a quarter mile from Daniels Parkway and the Gunnery Road intersection.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for any information concerning this incident.
