General Woman’s Club offering scholarships
The General Woman’s Club of Lehigh Acres will award several $500 scholarships to single parents who have minor children living with them at home.
The applicant must be currently enrolled in continuing education classes at an accredited college, university or technical school.
There is no pre-printed application form; the guidelines are:
– Resident of Lehigh Acres (send proof of residence, like a utility or electric bill or rent receipt)
– Supply street address and telephone number where you can be contacted (no P.O. Boxes)
– Single parent with minor children living at home
– Name of college, university or technical school in which you are currently enrolled
– Brief biography that includes your area of study
Applications must be received by April 15.
Mail applications to: Diane A. Lashua, Scholarship Chairman, 123 Sebring Circle, Lehigh Acres, FL 33936.
The awards will be issued on May 20.

LRMC Auxiliary taking applications
The Lehigh Regional Medical Center Auxiliary is accepting applicants for its annual medical scholarship award.
The scholarships are offered to residents of Lehigh Acres who are ages 18 or older.
Applications may be obtained at the information desk in the front lobby of Lehigh Regional Medical Center, at 1500 Lee Blvd.
Deadline is April 20.

Partners in Education Academy scheduled
The School District of Lee County and The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools will present the Partners in Education Academy on May 6 and 13 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the First Assembly of God, at 4701 Summerlin Road, Fort Myers.
Community partners, including business professionals, parents and volunteers, can attend for an informative orientation to the education system.
Over the two days, attendees will gain an in-depth look into the operations of the district, which continues to serve more than 93,000 students each day.
The first day will focus on the Division of Food Services, Division of Business and Finance, Division of Transportation and Division of Information and Technology.
The second day will cover the Division of Human Resources, Division of Teaching and Learning, Division of Construction Services and the Division of Planning Growth and Capacity.
Registration is free.
