The General Woman’s Club of Lehigh Acres will host its Pre-Mother’s Day Tea Party on April 16 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church, at 705 E. Leeland Heights Blvd.
There will be tea sandwiches, mini pastries and tea.
A prize will go to the best hat.
Cost is $10; open to public.

The Gulf Coast Writers Association will meet on April 16 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, 7401 Winkler Road, Fort Myers.
Donald Michael Platt, the author of five novels and a past winner of the Senator Phelan Literary contest, will speak about “How and Why I Began to Write.”
He will offer tips on finding a literacy agent and will explain why books get awarded or rejected.
