The Lehigh Acres Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association will meet on May 12 at 6 p.m. at the Mirror Lakes Golf Club, 670 Milwaukee Blvd.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars 4174 and its auxiliary will honor veterans on May 14 at noon at 25 S. Homestead Road.

There will be a Suncoast Vietnam veterans “Last Patrol Reenactment” and POW/MIA table dressing ceremony.

Options home gardeners have for killing bad nematodes in the soil will also be discussed.

– May 21 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Mid-County Library in Port Charlotte

The speaker is Dr. Mongi Zekri, a Southwest Florida multi-county citrus agent. He will explain basic homeowner citrus care, including citrus greening.

Membership from April to September is $10, plus a $10 Lee Parks and Recreation membership.

Bring a cup for free coffee and tea; also consider bringing something to share with the group.

The VegHeads 4-H will present seed saving basics on May 28 at 1 p.m. at the East County Regional Library, at 881 Gunnery Road.

They will explain why to save seeds and basic terms, along with beginner techniques for lettuce, tomatoes, peppers and beans/peas.

A wide range of swim lesson skill levels are offered, including adult beginners; all taught by American Red Cross Certified instructors.

Commit to get fit with aqua aerobics. Choose from a fast-paced workout at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday through Friday or the ultra-low impact class at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday and Friday. Classes are 45 minutes long in chest deep water.

– Wednesdays from 6 to 7 p.m and Saturdays from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at Healthy Harvest Community Farms

The classes are free; donations are welcome. At least 10 people must be signed up for a class.

The selection includes succulents, small trees, native plants, herbs, annuals, bromeliads, rose bushes and more.

Master Gardeners will be available to answer any questions.

There is a $1 per hour parking fee, with a maximum of $5.
