Lee County Sheriff’s investigators are looking for 21-year-old Lester Alexis Bermudez-Lozada who is a suspect in the shooting of a tow truck driver on May 16 in Lehigh Acres.

Trish Routte, coordinator of Crime Stoppers, said as a result of several tips, the accused shooter in the altercation at Old Fashion Auto has been identified and she is urging the public to help investigators locate him.

Lester Bermudez Lozada is known to frequent the Lehigh Acres area as well as the Daniels Parkway/ Treeline Ave. neighborhoods.

He was armed on May 16 with a semi-automatic handgun and should be considered violent and dangerous, Routte said.

He was driving a late model silver Nissan equipped with chrome rims and a black top. There was also an unknown female in the passenger’s side seat, Routte said.

Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in tracking down the young male driver and the silver Nissan he was driving, after a verbal altercation turned violent on Monday afternoon, May 16.

According to a Sheriff’s report, the victim, who works for a local tow truck company, had pulled into the Old Fashion Auto firm at 1209 Homestead Rd. in Lehigh just after 5 p.m. on May 16.

As he was unloading a vehicle from his truck, the suspect became agitated because he felt the driver was blocking the driveway.

According to the report, the two men argued for a short time, leading to the suspect pulling out a semi-automatic handgun and shooting the driver once, causing a non-fatal injury.

The suspect fled east on Homestead Rd.
