East County Regional Library is offering the following free activities to the public for June:
Adult programs
– Beginning Computer Skills
10:30 a.m. June 3 and 10
A technology instructor will cover a variety of topics including using a mouse, establishing an email account and using library online resources. Space is very limited and registration is required.
– I Can Do That! Craft -Wall Hangings
2:30 p.m. June 4
Local crafter Bonnie Frato will help patrons create fancy, friendly wall hangings to decorate any room. Registration is required.
– Book Discussion: “Killing Mister Watson” by Peter Matthiessen
3:30 p.m. June 6
Drawn from fragments of historical fact, Matthiessen’s masterpiece depicts the fortunes and misfortunes of Edgar J. Watson, a real-life entrepreneur and outlaw who appeared in the lawless Florida Everglades around the turn of the century. Registration is required.
– Chess Anyone?
4 p.m. June 6, 13, 20 and 27
Rise to the chess challenge and join the fun. Chess enthusiasts of all ages are welcome. Bring your own chess set or use one of ours.

Join us for a free information session to learn about the naturalization process and how to become a United States citizen. A USCIS officer will answer questions and provide materials to help you prepare for the citizenship test. Registration is required.

Presented by Fifth Third Bank, this 30-minute seminar will teach you how to establish and maintain good credit and offer simple ways to improve your credit score. Registration is requested.

In honor of Caribbean-American Heritage Month, broadcast journalist, Roy H. Brown, presents excerpts from his award winning television series, “Trails,” which focused on the people and culture of his native Jamaica in the wake of the tragic 1980 election. Registration is required.
