To the editor:

It is a troubling fact, but not everyone gets a trophy in life. Those that do not must look to themselves to find the answer. Winners, it seems, make themselves winners. This is a country that is ripe for someone who is destined to be successful. The current Democratic Party is placing upon its shoulders the full-blown mantle of socialism. Again, it is a function of the Democratic Party to put itself first and the country at some other point of attention.

We have on the one hand an old man with words of comfort to the miserable. And those words are heard loud and clear. And why are his supporters miserable? It is not because they are bad people but rather because the tenets of society are shown daily what their needs are. New cars, travel destinations, homes and a perfect “mate,” all reside within their emotional window. The means to purchase are through decent paying jobs, but those jobs are shrinking because of many factors. High costs of production, immigration, technology and mechanical innovation are pouring into the work environment, displacing the human ingredient with one that does not strike for higher wages and benefits. Overtime and paid vacations are not demanded by these marvels of the human creative abilities.

On the other hand we have a woman whose only real distinguishing feature is that she is a woman. Her past is filled with question marks of integrity and ethics. Her veracity is shouted only by her. Yet, she holds out the carrot of her being the “first woman president.” But when she attempts to clothe herself with visions of success she appears to be wearing clothes from a car wash. Admonishments to right societal wrongs are shouted to the devout crowds of her followers with words from the old testament of the Democratic Party. That bible is well worn and well known and, now, well discarded.

The vial of political anointing oil was poised over her head last year. At the present the anticipated flow from this anointing vial are merely droplets. The great and proud party of the workers is on life support, and Hillary Clinton cannot perform political resuscitation.

She will not stand on the winner’s podium holding her trophy high.

Will Trump’s triumph be trumpeted instead?
