Foundation continues annual Back to School Supply Drive
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools is holding its annual Back to School Supply Drive through Aug. 5 at several participating locations throughout Lee.
Donations will benefit the foundation’s Education Resource Center, which provides Lee County School District educators access to new and reusable classroom supplies at no cost.
Suggested donations include notebook paper, pens, No. 2 pencils, crayons, glue sticks, rulers, notebooks, three-ring binders, scissors, and backpacks.
Donations can also be made at: store.kitsforkidz.org/lee-schools.html
Supplies may be dropped off at: Algenol, Amore Brick Oven Pizza, BB&T – Oswald Trippe & Company, Busey Bank – Fort Myers and Cape Coral, Calusa Nature Center, Capt. Pete’s Diving Outfitters, Comcast, Cummins Power South, Edison National Bank/Bank of the Islands, FGCU – Cohen Center, Fifth Third Bank, Fred’s Award World, Hyatt Regency Coconut Point, Rasmussen College – Fort Myers, Sears Hometown Store – Cape Coral and Progressive Corporation
“Our teachers do an excellent job of engaging our students in learning and preparing them for their futures as productive citizens, however, if a student does not have the tools necessary to succeed, then learning at the highest level cannot take place,” Marshall T. Bower, president of the foundation, said.
“With 75 percent of our students qualifying for free or reduced lunch, the need is very high in our school district and this supply drive helps to ensure that all students come to school prepared to learn,” he continued.
