Major ad firm locates national headquarters in the Cape

By Staff | Jul 21, 2016

Locating their national headquarters in Cape Coral proved to be a good fit for one of the nation’s largest automotive dealer advertising agencies.

It was announced earlier this week that Moore & Scarry Advertising, a firm founded in 2001 in Fort Myers, recently acquired a vacant 13,000-square-foot building near the Lee County VA Healthcare Center in northeast Cape Coral. The building was the former home of a State Farm Insurance facility and sits on a four-acre parcel at 1521 Commerce Creek Blvd.

“They are growing and had been leasing in Fort Myers,” said Cape Coral Economic Development director Dana Brunett. “They want to continue to grow and at first were looking to build a building until we found this one. I’ve been working with them since I first got here, so that was 4-1/2 years ago.”

Moore & Scarry has 68 employees in Lee County and 30 in Denver.

“We have a number of employees who commuted from Cape Coral and a majority of other employees who live in Fort Myers plan to move to Cape Coral,” said communications director Frances Mariela. “Cape Coral has a wide variety of new talent that we are looking for since we represent a number of dealers interested in multicultural advertising.”

The agency moved into the new building earlier this month.

“As a longtime resident of the area, it is very exciting for me to have Moore & Scarry join the Cape Coral community,” partner Tom Kerr said in a prepared statement. “We’re going to do great things here. With our new facility, we have plenty of space to grow and the possibilities are endless.”

The firm represents more than 300 automobile dealers nationwide, including Fortune 500 dealer groups and in the Automotive News Top 125. The agency includes two digital and social media subsidiaries: DyGen and Sparq.

“These are good paying jobs good for the city’s economy,” said Brunett. “When their employees move here, qualify for loans and an opportunity to buy, which helps our tax base.”

“Our investment in the City of Cape Coral is a testament to our vision for growth,” said partner Paul Caldwell. “This marks a new era for Moore & Scarry, an era of expansion and continued innovation.”

Moore & Scarry offers a full suite of advertising services such as copy, art, television/radio production, social media management, online video, SEM, SEO, media placement, billing and account services.

“This facility does two things. It gets an empty building back in service. There is plenty of room to expand, which is why they liked it, and the building was laid out well for wiring. They are digitally based and could wire it up quickly,” said Brunett. “It’s a good project. Their existing employees are here and I think it will work out for them.”
