Physicians’ Primary Care of SWFL named as finalist for industry award
Physicians’ Primary Care of Southwest Florida, which has offices in Lehigh Acres, was named last week as a finalist in the 25th annual Industry Appreciation Awards, hosted by the Horizon Council and Lee County Economic Development Office.
It is a finalist for the LocalLEE Grown Business Award, with Bailey’s General Store and Parker/Mudgett/Smith Architects.
The award is given to a company that was founded in Lee County and is distinguished by its operational excellence and commitment to the vibrancy of Southwest Florida’s business climate.
Finalists were judged on such things as longevity in Lee, successes from an operational capacity and long-term commitment to the county’s economic development.
Additional Industry Appreciation Awards include the Business Citizenship Award, Emerging Business Leader Award and Bruce T. Gora Legacy Award.
The Business Citizenship Award is given to a company whose financial, volunteer and active involvement in organizations and programs have helped create a better quality of life in Lee.
The finalists include IBERIABANK, Priority Marketing and Pushing the Envelope.
The Emerging Business Leader Award is given to a relative newcomer to the county that is experiencing marked growth while introducing inventive products, services or business practices.
The finalists are iPartnerMedia, The RocketLounge and Wicked Dolphin Distillery.
The Bruce T. Gora Legacy Award was created to honor an individual who over the last 25 years has established a history of distinguished service and contributions to the betterment and growth of the business community.
The finalists include David Barton, Marshall Bower, Scott Fischer, Gail Markham and Gary Trippe.
A panel of local business leaders served as judges for the awards.
The ceremony will take place on Aug. 25 at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point in Estero.
Physicians’ Primary Care of Southwest Florida opened its doors in April 1996. It employs 328 people between 12 offices.
In support of Lee County, the group has donated over $100,000 to local charities and 26 physicians volunteer their time to local health organizations, serving in leadership positions.
