Three from Lehigh charged in unrelated murders

Two Lehigh Acres men and one woman have been accused of murder in two separate incidents, according to authorities.
Eugene Johnson, 61, of 198 E. Joel Blvd., was arrested and charged on Aug. 9 with one count of homicide second-degree murder not premeditated during other felony and one count of possession of weapon or ammo by convicted Florida felon, according to records from the Hendry County Jail.
As of Monday, he remained in custody on $530,000 bond.
In the second case, Bubba O’Connor, 42 and Wendy Soucier, 49, were each arrested and charged on Aug. 10 with murder, attempted second-degree murder and armed robbery.
Investigators believe that O’Conner and Soucier traveled to the home of Chery Ermine, 72, and Frank Jansson, 69, on August 6, with the intent to obtain money, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Authorities reported that O’Connor and Soucier confronted the homeowners and an altercation occurred.
Ermine was killed in the incident, while Jansson sustained life-threatening injuries.
Jansson’s condition was unknown as of Monday.
O’Connor and Soucier have been booked into the Hendry County Jail without bond.
Johnson is accused in the death of a Fort Myers woman, whose body was discovered in Hendry County in April, days after she was reported missing.

On April 9, Alberta Harris went missing from her Fort Myers residence, according to the FDLE. The next day, she was reported missing by family. On April 20, Harris’ body was located in a remote and wooded area in Hendry.
Officials reported that her death was determined to be a homicide.
Last week, the FDLE and Fort Myers police detained Johnson in connection to her death.
Both cases will be prosecuted by the State Attorney’s Office 20th Judicial Circuit.
