There’s got to be better things to worry about than chickens

By Staff | Sep 21, 2016

To the editor:

Concerning the backyard chickens issue, my hat is off to Ruth Ann Anglickis who said in one of your stories that a lot of people are not even aware of the group, as in, not bothered by chickens in the backyard. She also stated, “This group doesn’t care about what others think, only what they want to accomplish.”

Isn’t this calling the kettle black? I do not have chickens in my back yard, nor do my neighbors. It is just too much trouble for producing eggs that can be bought for a couple dollars a dozen at a store.

Though, I would buy from people that do have chickens, to help offset their expenses if they would sell to me at competitive prices.

If I was an executive, and had an ear of the community council board members, and had easy access to email, real estate agents and county commissioners, I would use my time for important activities and to widen roads, etc. Not worry over four or five properly care for chickens.

This time, influence, and computer access seems like a conflict of interest if done on Landex Corp. time. I certainly have better things to do with my personal time, don’t you?
