Airport reports traffic

During August, 431,729 passengers traveled through Southwest Florida International Airport, a decrease of 5 percent compared to August 2015.

Year-to-date, passenger traffic is up 3.7 percent from the same period last year.

The traffic leader in August was Delta Air Lines with 101,912 passengers traveling to and from Fort Myers. Rounding out the top five airlines were Southwest (78,526), JetBlue (72,152), American (70,195) and United (36,066).

Southwest Florida International Airport had 4,144 aircraft movements – takeoffs and landings – a decrease of 4.7 percent compared to August 2015. Page Field saw 7,871 movements, an 11.8 percent increase from August 2015.

In addition, more than 2.6 million pounds of air freight moved through Southwest Florida International Airport in August 2016, an increase of 9.6 percent compared to August 2015.

Public comment sought on Clerk of Court’s website

Visitors of the Lee County Clerk of Court’s website are invited to take a survey to share their priorities and comments on website features.

The comments and opinions received will be used in the design of the new website that will be available in 2017.

Job fair scheduled

SalusCare will host a job fair today, Oct. 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its Evans Campus, at 3763 Evans Ave., Fort Myers.

SalusCare has full- and part-time, as well as PRN, positions available ranging from facilities technicians, behavioral health technicians and case managers, to dietary aides, nurses, clinicians and support specialists.

Attendees will be able to speak with hiring managers, learn about benefits and complete an application on-site.

Lee BIA accepting Pinnacle, Summit Awards entries

The Lee Building Industry Association is accepting entries for the 2016 BIA Industry Awards, featuring both the Pinnacle and Summit Awards.

Applicable categories include residential design, commercial projects, advertising and marketing and industry achievement.

Eligible construction, design, marketing or implementation projects must have been created/produced/run/completed between Aug. 1, 2015, and July 31.

Achievement Awards are for an individual’s or a company’s proven achievement in 2015 only.

Entries must be received by Oct. 6.

Speaker Series planned

Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt is hosting its the 2016 C-Suite Speaker Series.
