Couple indicted on murder and other charges

Two Lehigh Acres residents have been indicted on murder and attempted first-degree murder in an incident involving Frank Jansson, 69, and Cherry Ermine, 72, according to officials at the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
Bubba O’Connor, 42, and Wendy Soucier, 49, are being held in the Hendry County Jail with no bond.
Samantha Syoen, spokeswoman for the State Attorney’s Office, reported that a grand jury in Hendry County indicted the two on Oct. 11.
The indictments are for crimes against Jansson and Ermine on Aug. 6 in Hendry County.
O’Conner and Soucier were each indicted with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, robbery with a deadly weapon and first-degree burglary.

Investigators said they went to the victims’ home in the 13000 block of Queen Avenue in Clewiston to obtain money. They confronted Ermine and Jansson, which led to an altercation.
Ermine was killed and Jansson sustained life-threatening injuries, according to the FDLE.
According to reports, O’Conner and Soucier obtained the cell phone of Ermine after attacking. It was reported that Ermine bled to death on the living room floor.
Jansson was found in his vehicle at Everhigh Acres Road and Dasey Lane at about 7 p.m. Oct. 8.
According to reports, Jansson had been beaten and stabbed, with injuries to his face and a laceration to his knee. He had a broken nose, blunt force trauma to the head, face and torso, a laceration to the back of the head and a multiple stab wound to his neck and chest.
Authorities said Jansson was flown to Lee Memorial Hospital.
Jansson told officers that his girlfriend, Ermine, was near death at his home.
When the Hendry County Sheriff’s found her, she was bleeding profusely from her head and face. Ermine died at the scene.
Jansson told deputies that he had come home from shopping when he ran into Soucier, O’Conner and a third person. They were getting ready to leave, but he invited them into his house.
Jansson told deputies that was when O’Conner attacked him.
According to reports, O’Conner choked Jansson and attempted to use a knife to stab him, but Jansson fought him off.
