Fund Raisers – Week of Oct.19

* Having a Blast, Make it Last

Harney Point V.F.W. will host a breast cancer fundraiser, Having a Blast, Make it Last, on Friday, Oct. 28 from 4 – 8 p.m. There will be food, music, entertainment by the Calendar Girls, games, and auctions with many fine prizes. Proceeds from the event will benefit Partners in Breast Cancer Care and Living Beyond Breast Cancer. The Post is located at 4709 SE 11th Pl.

* Barbecue fundraiser

Over the course of the next six months, Mike Case, the owner of C.A.R.S. will put on a monthly benefit with (donation) barbecue for the S. W. FL area to benefit the Progeria Reasearch Foundation. Progeria. The fundraisers will continue the on the first Thursday of each month through April – Nov. 3, Dec. 1, Jan. 5, Feb. 2, March 2 and April 6.

See some cool cars, meet soem cool people and enjoy some great barbecue. Minimum donation is $3.

* Thursday Night Comedy Show

The Board of Directors at Wounded Warrior Anglers of America Inc., will hold its next Thursday Night Comedy Show fundraiser at the Comedy Lagh In Cafe on Nov. 10. Happy Hour and Dinner begins at 5 p.m.

This is a program has been for the last 9 months, and has been a success for our members who deal with PTSD. This night out with fellow veterans, and caregivers has really help in a lot of ways. For this event Wounded Warriors Anglers is inviting ALL of its supporters and hopes that they will attend and see what a difference their support has made. All proceeds for the tickets are donated to the Wounded Warrior Anglers of America Inc., to fund its programs. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the door.

The Comedy Laughin Cafe is at 8595 College Parkway, Fort Myers.

* Preview Party for ACT

The Arts for ACT “The Disco Ball” Gala & Fine Art Auction will be presented by Bill Smith Appliances and Electronics, onSaturday, Oct. 29, at the Harborside Event Center, 1375 Monroe Street in Fort Myers, from 5 until 10 p.m.

The lineup at this year’s gala includes artwork from featured artist Sherry Rohl, as well as showcased artists, including Jan Ellen Atkielski, David Belling and Christine Reichow.

The organizers of this year’s Arts for ACT “The Disco Ball” Gala & Fine Art Auction encourage participants to don their finest polyester and platform shoes as the party will feature a live performance by “The Original Studio 54 Band,” incredible art from local and international award-winning artists; with auctioneer Scott Robertson conducting the live auction. There will be cocktail drinks provided by the Wicked Dolphin Rum Distillery, extraordinary food, and mobile bidding for the silent auction and raffle, with prizes valued at over $20,000.
