Good try

Yes, you’re going to hate Obamacare. Yes, you’re going to resent rate increases, high deductibles and insurance companies withdrawing. This is not what Obamacare is doing to you; this is what the Republican Party is doing to Obamacare.
Look up SB1842, taking away Insurance Commissioner’s control of unjustifiable rate increases here in Florida. Thirty other states are under the control of Republican governors. Campaign contributions and demonizing the other party’s accomplishments are far more important than your health care.
I spent 35 years of my life in the insurance business, believe me, I know how all this works. Back in the ’60s a major insurance company in Pennsylvania, because of rate increase denials, wanted to withdraw their auto insurance coverage. Our Insurance Commissioner, Herb Denenberg, told them fine but you’re going to have to remove all your coverages from this state. Needless to say, they stayed and are still in the state. Insurance companies need to be state regulated, rate increases need to be approved only after justifiable losses indicate the percentage of increase. Insurance companies should not have the authority to withdraw coverage unless granted by The Insurance Commissioner.
Obama thought these things would take place but unfortunately, that would make his plan look good. Instead it worked as a reversal – they used it to make a liar out of him and obstruct his plan in every way possible.
