An error on the ballot for the Lehigh Acres Municipal Services Improvement District has been brought to the attention of the Lee County Supervisor of Elections, according to officials.

After an investigation, officials found that an error occurred in the geographical mapping system that placed approximately 500 voters outside of the district. The ballot design that affects these voters does not include the candidates running for office in the district.

All other applicable contests appear on the ballot.

Officials have contacted the mapping vendor to determine why the error occurred.

The Florida Division of Elections has advised the Lee County Supervisor of Elections that due to the advanced stage of the election, it must allow the election to go forward in its current circumstance and report election results in accordance with Florida Law. The outcome of the election will determine what action, if any, will be undertaken.
