Grow house busted, two charged

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office recently busted a marijuana grow house and changed two people, officials reported.

Authorities executed the search warrant on Nov. 10 at 1249 E. Earnest St.

Detectives received an anonymous tip of an active marijuana grow operation and further investigation led to obtaining a search warrant for the residence.

A search of the residence revealed an elaborate cultivation operation consisting of two rooms containing 195 marijuana plants, weighing 198.8 pounds.

Two occupants inside the home, Philip Thorton Magnotti, 50, and Natasha Tatiana Borkowski, 22, both of 1249 E. Earnest St., were taken into custody.

Both were charged with producing marijuana, trafficking marijuana and own or rent a structure to traffic drugs.
