A 9-year-old Lehigh Acres girl died in a multi-vehicle crash on Dec. 3 at about 9:30 a.m. near Lee and Sunniland boulevards.

The Florida Highway Patrol said a Hyundai Elantra driven by James Peffley, of Lehigh, was driving east in the left lane of Lee when it turned into the path of a Mercedes AMG traveling west on Lee.

Police reported that the Mercedes hit the passenger side of the Elantra, then the front of the Mercedes AMG was hit by a Mercedes C250 that was traveling west on Lee.

Nathalie Peffley, 9, was a passenger who was in the Elantra.

She was taken to the hospital, where she died of her injuries.
