You just got Trumped

By Staff | Dec 7, 2016

To the editor:

I’m submitting this letter as the first installment of a series of letters pointing out the numerous lies, promises and commitment’s made by Donald J. Trump during the 2016 General Presidential election.

There is plenty to work with here, as there are 286 documented quotes of his campaign promises on file. If the Lord is willing to grant me four more years on this beloved planet and the editors see that my material is worth printing, I intend to submit more letters on this subject in the future.

My intension is not to be an annoying ankle bitter, but to keep the deception he ran on in your face. Of course we’ll be talking about the flip flops that he has made now that the General Election is over. There’s not enough print space to study the multitudes of lies he shoveled at us during the Primary.

As we all know, in the General the candidate is now clarifying and solidifying his positions on a multitude of issues of which he or she will ultimately govern. You could call it the real deal. This is the heart and soul of any serious campaign, this is the kind of stuff that will determine what kind of a leader we have elected once he or she takes office. Are they a person of their word, or were they just blowing hot air back on the campaign trail?

It’s also a look into the future on actually what kind of a person they really are. Example: who could ever forget Bush 41 promising “read my lips, no new taxes,” only to turn right around and raise taxes? That not only weakened his Presidency, it cost him the next election.

The following is the beginning of the list I’m calling “you just got Trumped”:

– The birther movement was Trump’s brain child, only to be gobbled up by his supporters and later to be renounced by Trump himself on Sept. 26th well into the General. You just got Trumped.

– Trump screamed that he was going to investigate Clinton and her foundation and put her in jail. His supporters yelling “lock her up.” After he was elected he come out and lets everyone know he’s not going to do anything of the sorts. Now what is his supporters chanting? Let her go. You just got Trumped.

– He said he would never settle the Trump University scam lawsuit because he was innocent. Just after he was elected he settled for $25 million. You just got Trumped.

– He claimed over and over that climate change didn’t exist. After he was elected he left the door open on the subject, saying it may have some merit, more study was needed. You just got Trumped.

– During the election he was 100 percent for waterboarding. All of a sudden after the election he was against it. You just got Trumped.

– During the election he vowed that the entire ACA program would definitely be eliminated. Now he’s saying he wants to keep parts of it. You just got Trumped.

– During the election he said the main part of his economic plan was to cut government spending. Within a week of getting elected news came out that his wife and son would not be moving into the White House any time soon. The Secret Service estimated the cost to protect them would be $1 million per day. That’s $365 million per year folks. You just got Trumped.

– The corner stone of his campaign was building a wall along our southern border. After he got elected he was talking about a fence along portions of that border. I wonder if his coma induced supporters are screaming “build the fence.” You just got Trumped.

– Lastly, his other cornerstone was to deport 11 million illegals out of the country. “They all have got to go.” Now he talks about two to three million criminal illegals being deported. The real number is approximately 300,000 to 400,000. He also says after that is done he would take a look at the situation and determine at that time what to do next. You just got Trumped.

As you can easily see there is a definite pattern on how this guy operates. He calls it “the art of the deal.” One small problem here folks, he didn’t even write the book, a ghost writer wrote it for him, although he did take all of the credit and money. I’m sure he will do the same thing with our beloved country.

No one has been able to figure this fellow out and it’s likely no one will. So let’s quite trying, it’s a total waste of time. What we can do is accept the fact that he has been, he is and he will continue be a completely erratic President and prepare for the upcoming storm coming our way.
