On the morning of Dec. 8, a Lee County Sheriff’s Office deputy interrupted a robbery in progress at the 7-Eleven at 15991 N. Cleveland Ave., North Fort Myers.

The deputy confronted an armed suspect just outside the front door. The man pointed a gun at the deputy and the deputy fired at the suspect.

It is unknown if the man was hit.

The suspect fled on foot.

The man is described as a black, approximately 5 feet, 7 inches tall, with a heavy build.

There was no clothing description at the time officials reported the incident.

No deputies or civilians were injured.

A Code Red was initiated to alert nearby residents, authorities said.
