The Greater Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce invites you to: The 25th Annual Awards Gala
Susan Kostyk
The 25th annual Awards Gala, put on by the Greater Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce, is set for Jan. 28. There will be several awards handed out by the chamber to deserving members of the community.
Susan Kostyk, event chairwoman, said tickets are selling fast. She urged chamber members, their guests and the public to contact the chamber now for tickets as there are only so many seats and tables available.
The event is being held at the Pelican Preserve, at 10771 Venecti Drive, Fort Myers.
The award presentations will be the highlight.
“We are especially proud to be presenting several of our Lehigh teachers awards and honor them for their outstanding work in our schools,” Kostyk said. “In addition to recognizing the outstanding teachers, others including the outstanding sheriff’s officer of the year and other awards will be presented.”
The chamber usually presents a special award to someone who has benefitted Lehigh and its people and businesses over the past year. Known as the Heart of Lehigh award, the winner is kept a secret until the gala.
Kostyk said there is still time to become a sponsor for the event, which is themed as “An Evening in Paradise” this year.
There will also be a silent auction; members are encouraged to offer items to be auctioned off.
Those who do not know what item to offer can send $100 to the chamber. Volunteers will make a gift basket for the business.
Kostyk said local support helps the chamber carry out its mission – to promote and enhance the civic, economic and social welfare of the community of Lehigh Acres.
People can contact the chamber officer at 239-369-3322 or at 25 Homestead Road N., Suite 41.
Payments can be made at: lehighacreschamber.org/.
Sponsorship packages include the Platinum Event Sponsor for $1,000; the Gold Event Sponsor for $550; the Silver Event Sponsor for $350; and the Bronze Auction Sponsor for $100.
Chamber officials said the night will be when “the stars of the community shine the brightest.”
The gala begins at 5:30 p.m. with a reception, followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. The program and entertainment starts at 8 p.m.
The cost is $70 per person.
RSVPs are required by Jan. 12 by contacting the chamber.
A new board of officers will be installed at the ceremony, and new directors will be announced.
The gala is one of the annual highlights for the chamber, which was founded in 1962 and has more than 300 members.
