LCSO: Woman hit couple with car

A Lehigh Acres woman is facing felony charges after she allegedly drove her vehicle into her son-in-law and daughter.
Lisa Newsom, 64, of 1913 Wellington Ave., was arrested and charged on Dec. 27 with aggravated battery to cause bodily harm and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, as well reckless driving.
As of Jan. 2, she had been released from the Lee County Jail on $110,000 bond.
Newsom is accused of aiming her car at her son-in-law, hitting him and her daughter, pinning her daughter under the vehicle and then running over her.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, she screamed, “I’m going to run him over” before aiming the car at the couple.
Newsom was taken into custody and detained, before being booked at the jail.
No additional information from officials was available as of press time.
Newsom has a court appearance scheduled for Jan. 30 on the charges, according to the jail booking records.
