Palestinians refuse to recognize Israel as a Jewish state

By Staff | Jan 4, 2017

To the editor:

With the political pandering of John Kerry under the direction of the Obama Administration to condemn Israeli settlements and not conforming to a two state request, the administration and Kerry will not answer the question that makes peace impossible.

Does the Palestinian Authority recognize Israel as a State? No it doesn’t. It officially recognizes Israeli’s existence and has done so since 1993 but not it’s right to exist, because it sees Israel as a state born in sin, the sin of Palestinian displacement.

In fact Palestinian Authority Leader Abbas stated they will never sign a deal demanding recognition of Israel as a Jewish State.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu states this is the root cause of the conflict.

By accepting Israel as just a state, any state, and not Israel’s right to exist as a State of the Jews, the Palestinians continue to perpetuate the notion of a zero sum game and makes peace impossible.

Peace can only be acquired with the promise of safety for the Jewish State of Israel, yet the Palestinians will not accept this request.

This takes us back to the Obama Administrations continued backing of the Muslim Brotherhood over the past eight years in the Mideast. Before condemning Israel, maybe President Obama should take a good look in the mirror reflecting on his past Middle East policies.
