Bad news and good news
To the editor:
Recent stories about the closings of many Kmart stores and Sears stores and Macy stores would have us sad to see these familiar fixtures perish, victims to the ease of Internet shopping.
But, the good news is that for those who think out of the box, we now have many standing empty structures with great space and parking available that can be easily turned into Technical Training Schools to teach our youth all the new programs they need for a productive future.
These schools could also to teach those service-inclined youth the always-needed skills such as electrician, plumbing, construction, heaving equipment operations, etc. A great opportunity for our local school system to save building dollars and sink those dollars into training dollars, and Make American Great Again by lowering the rolls of the unemployed while providing those needed services we all find necessary.
There is a pot of gold at the end of this rainbow. Just use it.
