By Staff | Jan 18, 2017

PHOTO SPECIAL TO THE CITIZEN Bobbie Slanker with the tabs and Ronald McDonald.

Eula “Bobbie”‘ Slanker is a member of General Women’s Club of Lehigh Acres and chairwoman of the club’s Ronald McDonald House pull tab program.

Members of the club have been collecting pull tabs and pennies for many years for the program.

Joined by Miriam Anderson, Janice Aquila, Linda Saul and Daniele Wheeler, Slanker donated the tabs and pennies to the Ronald McDonald House last week.

The group also took a tour of the local house, which offers a home-away-from-home for the immediate families of critically ill or injured children receiving treatment at a nearby medical facility.

Slanker explained that the program generates revenue used in the daily operations of the house.

“GWC members collect tabs, but I also ask everyone wherever I go to save these tabs,”?she said. “I even collected tabs during my last yard sale.”

“This is a great cause and takes so little time, everyone should do the same,” Slanker added.
