To the editor:

On Jan. 20, 2017, the eight-year presidential debacle finally ends. America had elected a man to the presidency who had no credentials relating to business success, management, marketing, or anything meaningful. He possessed the “gift of gab,” otherwise known as babble, and sold America a bill of goods that has almost destroyed the nation.

His idea was to disregard all that had made America great and transform the nation into a shameful shell where pride in the flag and in the national anthem and in oneself disappeared and was replaced with armies of beggars dependent on the government for survival.

We turned our back on our friends and lost their trust and respect. We displayed weakness in dealing with our adversaries and America was easy to push around and make a fool of.

At home, everything that we did was irrational and absolutely stupid. We released Gitmo prisoners, murderers that had tortured and killed Americans still sworn to bring America down, back to the battle field. (Indefensible in the eyes of any true American.)

We instituted Obamacare. (An ill-conceived health care program that was sold to the American people on a mountain of lies) The national debt sky rocketed to $20 trillion, placing generations to come at an unfair financial disadvantage. (The debt was $5 trillion under the Bush administration – an amount that Mr. Obama called “un-American.”)

We turned our backs on our wounded veterans, permitting them to suffer without medical assistance, and then die.

We supported the continuation of ‘murder in the womb,’ and ignored the fact that 50 million children had been destroyed since the Roe v. Wade immoral edict. (And when the sale of body parts became an industry we looked away and, instead, criticized the individuals who exposed the sickening crime.)

We permitted illegal activity at our borders, and, while drugs and dangerous criminals poured in, we laughed and put Americans at risk without blinking an eye.

We permitted Chicago to become a barbaric slaughter house and, instead, worked at changing the name of a mountain and a football team and permitting men to pee in public restrooms used by little girls.

America has become a second-rate nation, disliked and disrespected at home and around the world.

Jan. 20, 2017, will signal a new beginning and, if we listen hard we can hear the words from Dr. Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream speech.” He opined “Free at last, free at last, thank God Almighty we are free at last.”

It would be 100 percent American to support our new president and help him to make America great again.

Let’s be clear, those that don’t provide support for Mr. Trump are irresponsible, despicable jackasses!
