By Staff | Feb 1, 2017

As a result of an anonymous Crime Stoppers tip, the man responsible for breaking into a Lehigh Acres home and groping an 8-month pregnant woman is in law enforcement custody.

Of Jan. 27, Jerrion Gustave, 21, was taken into custody by Lee County detectives after receiving a tip on his identity from surveillance video released On Jan. 26.

Gustave has a criminal history, with his first felony arrest for burglary and theft at age 14.

Gustave will be transported to the Lee County Jail, where he will be booked and charged with occupied burglary and battery on a pregnant victim.

According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, a woman with a concealed carry permit pulled out her gun and ordered Gustave to leave her house on Jan. 22.

LCSO investigators said the victim was sleeping in her sister’s bedroom when she was awakened at about 6:40 a.m. by Gustave who crawled through a window.

Trish Routte, Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers coordinator, said Gustave identified himself as “Jamal” and said he was looking for the victim’s sister.

When he was told that she was not home, he said he was not going to leave until he spoke with her. Gustave was repeatedly told by the victim to leave, but he refused.

Routte said he pulled up the victim’s shirt and began kissing her stomach and grabbing her body parts. The victim feared for her life and said she would go find her sister if Gustave would stop.

She left the room and went to her mother’s bedroom and told her what was happening, according to officials. That was when the woman approached Gustave and told him to get out of the house.

Routte said when he refused to leave, the mother pulled out her firearm from behind her back and demanded that he leave the house and proceeded to talk him to the front door of the home.

As he was running from the house, surveillance cameras outside captured images of Gustave.
