Attendees are encouraged to register in advance online at: www.FSW.edu/openhouse.

Foundation provides $25,000 to schools

The School District of Lee County announced a $25,000 contribution by the Suncoast Credit Union Foundation.

Nineteen local schools are using the funds to develop projects related to literacy, STEM and the overall well-being of children.

Teacher developed projects include robotic coding at Caloosa Elementary, responsible gardening at Lehigh Acres Middle and literacy learning sets at Colonial Elementary.

Through its Rewards Debit Card and VISA Credit Card program, the credit union automatically donates 2 cents to the foundation every time members use the cards so there is no cost to members.

Scholarships offered

The Lehigh Cavaliers Domino Club is offering $1,000 scholarships to Lehigh Acres students for the 2017 academic year through the Louise Moore Scholarship Program.

To qualify, students must have at least a 3.0 GPA, been accepted to an accredited college, university or vocational school, and be a resident of Lehigh Acres.

The deadline for applications is April 14.

For details or an application, call Mrs. Cummings at 239-369-0621 or Mrs. Slater at 239-823-0597.
