Just before 2 p.m. Jan. 26, a customer known as “Marvins” entered Caribbean Cycles, at 322 Gunnery Road S.

After becoming agitated during a conversation with the businesses owner, he was asked to leave, according to a prepared statement from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

Knowing from previous experience that Marvins typically carried a firearm, the owner started to retreat to his office.

Moments later, Marvins pulled out a gun from his waistband and shot at the owner, who was not struck. However, the bullet did penetrate through the bathroom wall.

Through witness descriptions, Marvins was quickly identified as Marvins Louis Labissiere, 24, of 2629 Sunniland Blvd.

LCSO?detectives, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshal’s, immediately began their hunt for Labissiere.

Less than 24 hours after the incident, he was tracked down on Jan. 27 at state Route 82 and Haviland Ave.

He was booked into the Lee County Jail with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and shooting into a dwelling.

Labissiere has four prior arrests for two counts of battery and two counts of driving with a suspended or revoked license.
