Monday morning shooting probed

Investigators with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office spent all day Monday looking into the death of a man at 1107 Adeline Ave.

The victim has been identified as Jontavious Thomas, 29.

According to LCSO officials, they were called to the house at 5:47 a.m.

Family members lined up several blocks away. Word was that Thomas lived at the home with a wife and one child.

Family members said he was shot on his way to work at Southern Gulf Equipment Company.

LCSO officials have released a description of the suspect wanted in the homicide. The suspect is a black man, approximately 5 feel 10 inches, with a thin build.

He was reportedly wearing a black hoodie and black pants at the time.
