Linda Dillon, manager of the Golden Shell Boutique in Lehigh Acres, wants to get the word out about the gift shop she and several volunteers operate at the Lehigh Acres Senior Citizens Center.

The boutique is not just open to members of the center, it is open to the public.

“All they have to do is walk in the main entrance and we are to the left,” she said. “We have so many things, so many nice things and our prices are fair, competitive and inexpensive.”

“We haven’t advertised our gift shop but when visitors come to shop in it, they are surprised at the very nice items we have,” Dillon added. “We have everything from jewelry, knickknacks, to collectible gifts and clothing. We often have small pieces of furniture.”

“The thing is that everything we have is donated and it is the best condition and everything is cleaned before it brought to us,” she continued.

While there are volunteers currently helping to run the shop, Dillon said she could always use more help.

“The volunteers must be members of the senior center though,” she said.

The member dues are $30 for an individual or $55 for a couple.

The center, at 219 Plaza Drive, is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The operating hours for the Golden Shell Boutique are the same as the center.

“We just have a huge variety of nice things,” Dillon said. “The items are donated and when a lot of things are brought it, they don’t last long before they are bought.

“We do encourage nice donations,”?she added. “We price the items to accommodate the people of Lehigh – inexpensive, but very nice household items and more.”
