Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying two men who broke into a Lehigh Acres supermarket and stole thousands in cash after prying open an ATM machine.
About 4 a.m. Feb. 16, two men burglarized the El Paso Supermarket, at 5600 Eighth St. W. Once inside, the men, who were armed with knives, managed to pry the store’s ATM open. After taking all the cash from the machine, the men turned their focus to a food truck, located outside the business.
After tampering with the padlock, the men made their way inside the truck and quickly took all the cash from the register. They only targeted those items and did not remove any other cash or equipment located inside either location.
One of the suspects wore a black hoodie, skull print bandana, dark pants and carried a light-colored JanSport backpack. At one point, he wore a white motorcycle type helmet. The second suspect wore a white hoodie with grey or khaki pants.
Anyone with information is asked to call Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
