Reward increased in murder of Lehigh man
In an effort to help track down the person who murdered a Lehigh Acres resident in January, the reward for information leading to an arrest has been increased by family members, bringing the new tally to $26,000.
Today, family members added an additional $5,000 to the reward fund for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the Jan. 30 murder of Jontavious Thomas. An anonymous donor initially offered a $10,000 reward, which was matched shortly thereafter by Thomas’ former employer.
Over the last few weeks, family members have been raising money specifically for information leading to the apprehension of Thomas’ killer. Combined with the $1,000 being offered by Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, the total reward amount now stands at $26,000.
Anyone with information on the murder of Thomas is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 from Crime Stoppers and $25,000 from other donors.
