Lehigh duo facing multiple felonies following FHP traffic stop

At about 2:20 p.m. March 31, Florida Highway Patrol troopers stopped a grey Chevrolet traveling westbound on I-75 at mile marker 64 in Collier County.

It was reported that the driver, later identified as Antoine Owens, 35, of Lehigh Acres, was displaying a firearm and hand gestures of a firearm to occupants of another westbound traveling vehicle.

While searching the vehicle, troopers discovered a plastic bag full of credit cards under the front passenger seat. An investigation revealed fraudulent credit cards, papers with written card numbers, along with personal information, and a bottle of hydrocodone without a prescription label.

A total of 26 credit cards and 89 gift cards were seized.

Owens and his passenger, Lashay McDonald, 32, also of Lehigh, were transported to the Collier County Jail.

He was booked on 26 counts of possess receive retain stolen credit card, as well as fraud impersonation know intent unlawful possess five or more identification, possess controlled substance without prescription, opium or derivative traffic 4 grams under 30 kilograms and drive while license suspended revoked habitual offender.

According to booking records, he also is a fugitive from justice out of Miami-Dade for robbery strong arm robbery carjacking.

McDonald was booked on 26 counts of possess receive retain stolen credit card, as well as fraud impersonation know intent unlawful possess five or more identification, possess controlled substance without prescription, opium or derivative traffic 4 grams under 30 kilograms and permit unauthorized person to drive.

A $285,000 bond has been set for both Owens and McDonald.

The credit and gift card discovery remains under investigation.
