Leon announces re-election bid
Cape Coral City Council District 4 incumbent Richard Leon announced his re-election bid Friday.
“The last three years have been an amazing opportunity not just as a resident that wanted to help define what Cape Coral is but as a hometown local I have been able to shape our future with our Community,” said Leon in a prepared statement. “This Council has made great strides in developing Cape Coral and I have been excited to be part of that. God willing, if it is the will of the people, I would love to continue to be part of that work I started in 2013.”
The release states that in his first term, Leon has been able to help create and reform polices, diversified the tax base and addressed resident concerns and issues both district and citywide. He also has represented Cape Coral at the state level through efforts with the Florida League of Cities and by speaking with legislators in Tallahassee.
Leon will hold a Re-Election kickoff from 5:30 p.m. to 7 pm. on May 4 at Big 10 Tavern, 4703 S.W. 16 Place.
