Warrant leads to $10,000 in stolen jewelry, arrests

On May 3, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to an occupied residential burglary on Royal Windsor Drive in Fort Myers. The homeowners stated they woke up to several doors open in their residence and heard rustling in their kitchen.

After inspecting their residence, it was determined their home and vehicles had been burglarized while they were asleep. Cash and jewelry valued at over $10,000 was stolen from their residence.

Detectives developed a potential suspect, Travis Warriner, 19, of Fort Denaud. On May 9, he was located on unrelated charges. Facts obtained during the investigation lead to two additional suspects – Emilio Heinzman, 19, of 10750 Lemontree Court, and Abigail Berard, 16, of Fort Myers.

A search warrant was signed and executed at Heinzman’s residence. Numerous items were recovered, including electronics, ammunition, firearms, jewelry and cash. The jewelry recovered at the home was positively identified as the pieces removed from the Royal Windsor Drive residence in Fort Myers.

Heinzman, Warriner and Berard were charged with occupied burglary to a dwelling, grand theft and burglary to conveyance. Heinzman was also charged with possession of firearm by delinquent adult.
