LCSO seeking additional witnesses to serious crash
As the Lee County Sheriff’s Office continues its investigation into a serious two-vehicle accident that recently occurred in Lehigh Acres, anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to come forward.
Officials reported that the accident happened on April 30 at approximately 3:05 p.m. at Leeland Heights Boulevard and Maple Avenue South. A 2003 green Nissan Altima was westbound on Maple when it tried to make a left turn onto Leeland Heights. As the Nissan entered the roadway, it was struck by a 2004 gray Saturn SUV heading northbound.
The driver of the Nissan was transported to the hospital with critical injuries.
Officials reported that deputies have spoken to one witness about the crash, but they are interested in speaking with anyone else who witnessed the accident or was in the area at the time of the crash.
