PHOTO SPECIAL TO THE CITIZEN The Lee Schools TV student intern program recently received four Suncoast Television Awards of Excellence, “Student Emmys,” from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

Student intern program recognized

The Lee Schools TV student intern program recently received four Suncoast Television Awards of Excellence, “Student Emmys,” from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

The Suncoast Emmy is a regional award given by NATAS. The Suncoast region includes Florida, as well as parts of Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana and Puerto Rico.

The program’s winners included:

– Sports: “More Effort, More Wins” by Marissa Giambalvo

– Audio/Sound: “Welcome Back to School” by Vince Marcucci

– Editor: “Welcome Back to School” by Vince Marcucci

– Writing: “Happy Radio” by Paige Renyhart

The program’s honorable mentions included:

– Public Affairs/Community Service: “Team Buckingham” by Macey Callans and Rahmah Alamoudi

– Director: “CurrentLee Episode 45” by Vince Marcucci

– Director: “Chromebooks in the Classroom” by Vince Marcucci, Paige Renyhart and Eric Martinez

– Writing: “A Special Kind of Security” by Vince Marcucci

Regional winners will advance to the national Student Production Awards, with the winners announced in October.

Lee Schools has won 33 regional Student Emmys since 2010 and was awarded a national Student Emmy in Light News feature last year.
