Just over an hour after being named one of Lee County’s 10 Most Wanted criminals, Imari Colon is now in police custody.

Detectives with the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Warrants Task Force worked in conjunction with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office to apprehend Colon in downtown Fort Myers at 2:30 p.m.

Colon is currently enroute to the Lee County Jail, where she will be booked and charged with second-degree murder with a firearm.

Colon will be held without bond.

A murder suspect is at-large and Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers needs the public’s help tracking her down, according to authorities.

Detectives are on the hunt for Imari Ranisha Colon, 25, who is wanted for the recent murder of Derrick Henderson in Lehigh Acres.

Just after 11 p.m. May 24, Lee County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived at 815 Alido Ave. in response to a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered that Henderson had been shot. He was immediately transported to the hospital for treatment, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Within 48 hours of Henderson’s murder, detectives identified Colon as the suspect in the case. Although she has been known to have ties in both Lehigh and central Fort Myers, Colon is at-large.

Today, she was added to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers 10 Most Wanted list – facing the charge of second-degree murder with a firearm.

“We are confident that there are people in our community who know what happened, and are possibly harboring Colon,” said LCSO Undersheriff Carmine Marceno. “Make no doubt about it. Our detectives will find Colon, and if anyone is helping her evade justice, they too will be charged accordingly.”

Colon has previous arrests in Lee County for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and, most recently, for the sale and delivery of cocaine and marijuana.
