Eclectic establishment: Two Knights, Princess Sushi partner up

By Staff | Jun 7, 2017

GABRIELA HARDAN Princess Sushi's “Sushi Donut” is now available at Two Knights Market and Deli.

Two Knights Market and Deli recently partnered up with Princess Sushi to add another element and cuisine to an already unique eatery.

The restaurant features Puerto Rican and Middle Eastern food and now has teamed up with sushi chef Christopher Seals to offer up Japanese dishes. With a radio playing Spanish music, pictures of Lebanon hanging on the wall and the new sushi station in the back, Two Knights Market is a place like no other.

“We partnered with Princess Sushi because there isn’t really a place in Lehigh where you can get sushi,” Alain Capucci, one of the managers of Two Knights Market, said. “Since we’re doing different types of foods and cuisines here, we thought serving sushi would bring more customers to us.”

Seals is available to prepare fresh sushi for customers from Monday through Saturday.

Working under the name Princess Sushi, Seals has been in the sushi business for two years. Before partnering up with Two Knights, he would work out of local bars and stores in temporary setups.

“I thought it was a good concept, you know, three different nationalities and types of food,” he said. “You can get whatever you want here. I have people coming from Immokalee and LaBelle to eat.”

When it opened in 1984, Two Knights was called Los Amigos Grocery. According to Capucci, the business was started by the parents of Ernesto Rolon, the other manager of Two Knights. He explained that it originally had a Puerto Rican focus, but it was later switched to the existing deli and market.

Recently, Rolon and Capucci made changes to the menu and renovated the restaurant.

“There isn’t really anything like this in Lehigh or Lee County,” Capucci said. “It’s a mix of everything in one deli.”

Two Knights offers a range of platters such as falafels, gyros, roast pork, lamb, chicken and more.

Rolon and Capucci are currently working on securing a wine and beer permit for the venue. Capucci noted that once the permit is approved, they plan build a wine cellar in the back of the restaurant.

“Lehigh Acres has a lot of restaurant chains and franchises, so we’re trying to build a market,” he said.

“We’re just trying to be different in the community,” Capucci added.

Capucci explained that breakfast and lunch are more casual, with customers grabbing a quick meal or something to go. For dinner, it becomes more of a sit-down venue, where people can enjoy a nice meal.

“Anyone can come in, whether you’re family or you’re alone,” he said. “Anyone is welcome to come in and relax.”
