Over 100 children receive skin checks
Florida Skin Center’s Lehigh Acres location commemorated Children’s Day with 104 complimentary pediatric skin checks.
Despite a rainy June 10, young patients and their families filled two waiting rooms to play with toys, eat snacks, watch Disney favorites and blow bubbles with colorfully-dressed staff as they waited to be examined and treated for skin cancer, eczema, acne and dry skin.
Baby Boot Camp-Estero and Fort Myers Central provided information to mothers about workouts, such as stroller fitness, mat-based classes and running programs, as they waited for their children.
Family Music Time piqued children’s interest in instrumental classes, while Pelican’s SnoBalls greeted attendees with free snow cones and a clown entertained.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office brought its K-9 Unit to interact with the children.
The day concluded with two bike raffles, following a visit from the first Children’s Day event winners, and a gift card raffle by Pelican’s SnoBalls for one round of golf for a family of four.
