Another failure

By Staff | Aug 2, 2017

To the editor:

Back in January, President Trump signed a memorandum requiring his Secretary of Commerce (billionaire Wilbur Ross, known as the “King of Bankruptcy”) to devise a plan within six months requiring that only American-made steel components be used in U.S. pipelines. Here we are six months later, where is the plan? And now, last week, the Republican-lead U.S. Congress failed to pass HR2883, which would have turned the president’s memorandum into law. Why are our Republican representatives and the president’s own cabinet not supporting our president?
