Riverdale Branch Library lists upcoming activities for month
The roster of activities for September at the Riverdale Branch Library, at 2421 Buckingham Road, Fort Myers.
The following are free to the public:
Adult programs
– Celebrate Literacy Day
11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 9
Learn about the library and the Friends who help make things happen. Activities and refreshments from available.
– Pirates of the Golden Age
6 p.m. Sept. 19
Steven Valdespino from Have Lecture will Travel will help us examine the golden age of piracy.
Storytime
– Family Storytime
10 a.m. Sept. 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29
All-ages storytime that encourages the development of prereading skills through songs, rhymes, fingerplays and stories.
Children, teen programs
– Kids Read Down Fines
2 to 3 p.m. Sept. 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29
10 to 11 a.m. ept. 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30
Children and teens can earn a $2 credit for every 15 minutes they read in the designated area for a total of $8 in one session. Applies only to charges on overdue materials.
