School district conducts preliminary damage reports

On Tuesday, the School District of Lee County deployed Rapid Assessment Teams in order to get preliminary damage reports from our school campuses.
The following damage was identified:
– Three Oaks Elementary: trees down at entrance
– Three Oaks Middle: portable classroom damaged
– Lehigh Senior High School: classroom damaged

– Gulf Middle School: water around the school
– Buckingham Bus Compound: overturned empty portable classroom
Over the next few day, the district will send out larger teams to put together a more comprehensive report of damage information to share with the Florida Department of Education and other federal agencies.
Also, Lee County schools and district offices will be closed through Friday, Sept. 15. The district previously reported that it plans to reopen schools and district offices on Monday, Sept. 18.
