General Woman’s Club to hold meeting, auction

The General Woman’s Club of Lehigh Acres will meet Oct. 20 at 1 p.m. in Sweatlock Hall at the Faith Lutheran Church, at 705 E. Leeland Heights Blvd.

The guest speaker is a representative for the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Gulf Coast Writers announce speaker

The Gulf Coast Writers Association will meet Oct. 21 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Zion Lutheran Church, at 7401 Winkler Road, Fort Myers.

Pioneer Pumpkin Palooza at museum

The Pioneer Pumpkin Palooza will be held Oct. 21 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Immokalee Pioneer Museum, at 1215 Roberts Ave. W., Immokalee.

Free activities for all ages from a scavenger hunt, face painting, hay maze and hayrides, to Halloween movies, games, and arts and crafts.

Records seminars set

The Lee County Clerk of Courts will host the following seminars:

– Oct. 25: The Value of Searching Public Records & Online Services from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Lakes Regional Library, at 15290 Bass Road, Fort Myers

Learn what to do if you suspect fraud, waste or financial mismanagement involving court-appointed guardians over elderly, minor children and incapacitated individuals. Learn how to search public records for copies of deeds and mortgages; review court records of prospective tenants, employees, contractors and doctors; pay traffic tickets online; and request postponement or excusal from jury duty.

– Nov. 15: Foreclosure Process Workshop from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Fort Myers Regional Library, at 2450 First St., Fort Myers

Educate yourself about the foreclosure process. Understand the role of the Clerk’s Office in the bidding process. This workshop covers the general flow of the foreclosure bidding process.

Haunted nights at FSW

Florida SouthWestern State College will host the following:

– Oct. 27: Haunted College from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Building O on Charlotte Campus, at 26300 Airport Road, Punta Gorda

– Oct. 30: Halloween Party from 5 to 8 p.m. in Building A, Room 119, at Hendry/Glades Curtis Center, at 1092 East Cowboy Way, LaBelle

– Oct. 31: Fright Night from 6 to 8 p.m. in Building U, Room 102, on Thomas Edison Campus, at 8099 College Parkway, Fort Myers

– Oct. 31: Haunted Happenings from 6 to 9 p.m. in Building N, Room 148, on Collier Campus, at 7505 Grand Lely Drive, Naples

There will be costume contests, games, face painting, crafts, treats, and more for families for free.

Only 12 and under may wear masks and carry fake weapons; no inappropriate costumes please.

Lehigh Concert Band to present performance

The Lehigh Concert Band will perform Nov. 19 at 3 p.m. First Baptist Church of Lehigh Acres, at 200 Lee Blvd.

It will be a salute to U.S. veterans with the “Armed Forces Salute,” “Hymn of Freedom,” “Dam Busters March,” “The Blue and the Gray,” “America” from “West Side Story” and more.

The concert is free; donations will be accepted.

The band is always accepting new musicians who play at a senior high school level, college level or above. Rehearsals are held on Tuesdays at 7 p.m.

Pool offering classes

The Lehigh Acres Community Pool, at 1400 W. Fifth St., is heated and open year-round.

A range of swim lesson skill levels are offered, including adult beginners.

Eight classes for $50.

Commit to get fit with aqua aerobics. Choose from a fast-paced workout at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday through Friday or the ultra-low impact class at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday and Friday. Classes are 45 minutes long in chest deep water.

Plant, tree sale set

A plant sale will be held on the last Wednesday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon at Lakes Regional Park, at 7330 Gladiolus Drive, Fort Myers.

It includes succulents, small trees, native plants, herbs, annuals, bromeliads, rose bushes and more.

Master Gardeners will be available to answer questions.

Choir rehearsing
