Domestic Animal Services pushes ‘Skip the Jog, Walk a Dog’ campaign
People make millions of New Year’s resolutions each January and Lee County Domestic Animal Services is inviting the community to “Skip the Jog and Walk a Dog” as part of theirs.
Make pets a part of your New Year’s plan and consider that a new pet can help you achieve many of the most popular goals set each year.
The adoption fee for dogs over 30 pounds will be just $25 through Jan. 30 to assist potential pet owners in finding a new exercise partner and best friend.
There are many ways pets can improve your life:
– Getting fit/losing weight and being healthy – A pet is a great way to be more active, whether playing games or going for a walk.
– Reduce stress – There is no better stress reducer than the companionship of a devoted pet. Research has shown that contact with animals has many health benefits.
– Enjoy life more – With all the benefits of pet adoption, this one is a no-brainer.
– Helping others – By adopting you will not just be helping, you will be saving a life. Most pet owners report that they actually benefit more from the relationship than their pet.
The adoption fee includes spay or neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, de-worming, flea treatment, heartworm test for dogs six months and older, feline aids and leukemia test for cats, Lee County pet license for pets three months and older, microchip ID, and a 10-day health guarantee.
The adoption package has a total value of $500.
