To the editor:

It was a sad day for our Democracy when 11 Republicans, each respected and intelligent, banded together like a pack of dogs. They were content on passing their duties over to a prosecutor whose only purpose was to convey the contempt they have for Ms. Ford, the victim.

When the accused pervert’s time came to testify what happened to the prosecutor? Was there any attempt to find the truth? No, she sat silent as instructed while the GOP Senators bent over backwards to protect Kavanaugh.

This hearing amounted to nothing more than a sham.

Even the resulting investigation was a joke, run under terms dictated by Trump. Mr. Reality ran this like he was still on TV. Its only purpose was to place a crown on what will be the biggest mistake they will make this year. The GOP senators’ message to the women in our society – just sit silent and keep your mouth shut.

Any women who viewed these hearings should ask, if my daughter was treated as Ms. Ford was, why shouldn’t this affect my support for the GOP?

This is one life-long Republican who will now vote straight Democrat. It’s time to send a clear message back to the GOP.
